Pentair Minimax 100 Will Not Light

Unless noted otherwise all instructions refer to both the minimax 75 and minimax 100 heaters designated collectively as the minimax 100.

Pentair minimax 100 will not light. It stopped lighting at the end of last season and i thought i was out of answered by a verified pool and spa expert. After a recent rainstorm the pilot light was not lighting. I followed the reset instructions and after some experimentation discovered that the electric pilot igniter will only sometimes engage and only when the thermostat is set to maximum heat. The power thermostat etc lights were on but not the heater light.

My pentair minimax 100 will not light. I have a minimax 100 heater which is probably about 8 years old now. The minimax pool heater design is no longer being made by pentair but parts will continue to be manufactured for years to come so fear not if you have a pentair minimax which shares a common gas pool heater design with other brands like hayward and raypak. After not using our minimax for a season and replacing our pool pump i received the er04 code.
